Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, William Besly is one-half of the filmmaking duo formally known as “Powerhouse Pictures”
Currently, residing on Gadigal and Birrabirragal Land (Sydney, Australia) after graduating with an Advanced Diploma in Cinematography at the Academy of Film, Theatre and Television, he proceeded to further his craft in the industry shooting a balance of award-winning web series, short films, music videos and commercials.
With narrative at the core of his oeuvre, William brings a venturesome yet venerate approach towards cinema and its photography – with a focus on reflecting the human condition.
As a cinematographer, I am constantly in search of visually striking stories. The films that I take on as projects provide an opportunity to capture the raw authenticity and emotions on film – where the goal is not only about capturing light and action but about capturing the eyes, minds and hearts of our audience.
